Paul McCartney Chicago reviews
What a Night!
The catalogue cannot be beat, the band is joyous, joyful and tight, tight, tight. Most important, Paul can make a 60,000-seat arena feel like his living room. Somehow, the experience is intimate and life-affirming, bringing everyone in the audience together. A real highlight was when the audience stopped the show by singing "Happy Birthday" to Paul.
Yes, he's lost a step or two. For the first two numbers, Paul appeared to be in pain, and physically stiff, but he loosened up, and once that happened, he put on a three-hour show that cannot be beat by any band playing today.
It was great to have Bruce come onstage, and also instructive. Paul concentrated carefully on what Bruce was playing during the first verse and chorus of "Glory Days." Then, he had it, he got into the song, and played it with a humor and style that had Bruce Springsteen laughing out loud. Just amazing watching Paul's musicality in process.
What a night!
Best Concert Ever!
As usual, Paul's concert at MetLife Stadium was amazing! Every concert he does gets better and better if that is even possible - such a great talent. I was in the next to last row in the stadium and I loved every second of the show. He still has his voice, never takes an intermission yet gives his band (such a talented group of guys) a break when he plays his acoustic guitar - so thoughtful. Totally awesome experience. No show beats his show. So happy I could share his birthday with him (2 days early.) Happy Birthday, Paul!!!
